Our Food Security & Nutrition courses are primarily aimed at mothers between the ages of 20 – 35.

Training courses are designed to teach key principles of a healthy diet, including:

  • Eating 3 x day
  • Children having food before going to school
  • Cooking food properly
  • Boiling water to drink
  • Understanding a balanced diet
  • Weaning babies

Mums are often accompanied by their babies and toddlers who make their presence felt! Yet it is always a special opportunity to meet others as well as learning together.

  • Preparing and eating well balanced meals
  • Improved cooking procedures
  • Weaning and preparing suitable food for babies
  • Personal cleanliness and good hygiene in the home
  • Sustainable land management to provide balanced meals for the family – growing a variety of vegetables, caring for crops, improving soil fertility,  terracing,…-keeping animals for manure
  • Employing Family planning methods – pills and IUDs (intra uterine devices)
  • Care during pregnancy
  • Monitoring child development
