Itambira Island

Itambira Island is located in Lake Bunyonyi in the Kabale District of South West Uganda. The land slopes down to the lake and has stunning views through mature eucalyptus and pine trees.

It is accessible by boat from the landing site (‘Aharutinda’), which is approximately 7 miles by road from Kabale town.

Seeds of Hope Project

Itambira Island is home to the Seeds of Hope project, which is a not for profit, Non Government Organisation which was originally set up in order to run training programmes to empower the local community in order to improve their welfare and also to train the youth who have dropped out of school to improve their life skills and enable them to find gainful employment.

The new tourism facilities have been established to help offset the training costs and enable the project to become self sustaining in the long term.

We welcome day visitors to our restaurant, which serves delicious meals from a local and international menu using fresh ingredients. Those wishing to stay can choose from a range of accommodation styles.
