…to our unique facility on Uganda’s beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale. At Itambira Island, Seeds of Hope, we offer an opportunity to get closer to nature and experience true relaxation.

Our secluded resort on Itambira Island is an unforgettable destination, offering bright and comfortable accommodation. OUr restaurant offers fabulous views of the lake from dawn to dusk. At night, guests can gather in the bar, around the fire pit or in the ‘snug’ with games, books and a cosy fire if required.

We are renowned for great food!  The menu of the day offers great value and guests can also choose from our menu. We arrange regular barbecues and our wood-fired pizza oven is a real attraction.

Unique Lakeside Accommodation

We offer a choice of accommodation to suit all styles and budgets.

Our tree houses are particularly popular. Set on stilts, they all have a balcony overlooking the lake as well as en-suite bathroom facilities.

African-style roundhouses are set among the gardens and also boast private bathroom facilities with flush toilets and hot showers.

Our bamboo cottage has a double and twin room with large adjoining balcony and the best views of the sunset – ideal for families or groups of up to 4.

In 2024 we introduced our luxurious family treehouse with lakeside views which sleeps up to 4 in a double and 2 single beds.

All accommodation has access to hot showers and electricity in the evenings for lighting and charging devices.

If you would like to arrange transport to Itambira Island, Seeds of Hope, we can arrange to fetch you in our motorboat from our secure car park and jetty on the mainland.

    We love this place!

    Environmentally Aware

    We work hard to be as sensitive as possible to the beautiful environment around us. We use solar power for heating water (but we do have a generator to ensure standards are maintained on cloudy days). We use local products where possible and our restaurant serves vegetables and fruit that we grow on our plots.

    Itambira Island is home to the Seeds of Hope project, providing training and support for the local community to assist them in a number of areas including employment and agriculture.
