We welcome guests for as little as one night and as long as you like. Guests can dine at the island’s restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
We can also advise on activities and excursions from the island – around the lake and further afield.

Individual treehouses all with ensuite facilities.
Perfect for finding the ultimate peace, seclusion and relaxation, as well as offering a spirit of adventure and something a bit different.
Itambira Island’s treehouses are set within the forest area on stilts and all have an attractive private outdoor terrace overlooking the lake.
All treehouses incorporate ensuite bathroom.

Traditional African-Style Round House
Our roundhouses combine traditional style with a modern twist. All come with private bathroom facilities and are comfortably furnished using local African fabric.
Each roundhouse sleeps two. Larger parties can request to be placed in adjacent roundhouses.
The Cottage
The Cottage is recommended for larger groups or families, as it includes three bedrooms (a double and 2 singles). It has a small lounge and separate private bathroom facilities.
The Cottage is situated at the top of the hill and accessed by steep stairs through the woods. This short climb rewards you with a peaceful spot in which to relax and unwind among the trees.
Bamboo Cottage
Bamboo cottage is a 2-room semi, offering flexibility for families and groups. Its 2 rooms are both en suite and entirely independent, but can be booked together. One is a double and one a twin.
The big balcony is the ideal place to relax and get together.
Budget Accommodation – Ideal for Backpackers
Where cost is key, our new budget accommodation is designed for backpackers.
The building has up to 5 rooms available and a basic shared shower/toilet, adjacent to the building.

What Wifi is available?
Wifi is available in the restaurant area (subject to network availability). Please ask for a password.
How is security?
Security is good but there is a lock up facility for valuables if required. Ask at reception.
Are there mosquitoes?
There are not a lot of mosquitos in the area as Lake Bunyonyi has a high altitude. However, it is advisable to use a mosquito net at night and these are provided with all beds. When untied, these should be placed over the poles at bed corners.
How reliable is the electricity?
The generator is usually on between 6.00 p.m. – 10.00 p.m. (other times by request). Sockets in rooms only work when the generator is on.
When generator is not on, there is ‘back up’ so lights will continue to work in the rooms. A socket for charging mobile (cell) phones is available in the restaurant.
Security lights are fitted outside the front door of accommodation. Please switch off when not in use.
Is there hot water?
Yes, each accommodation has a water tank holding 10 litres. If not used, it remains hot until morning.
