scrunchies\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Who are TUBEHAMWE?<\/h4>\n<p>We are a handicraft group from Katooma a rural community at Lake<\/p>\n<p>Bunyonyi, SW Uganda. We come together every week for fellowship and prayer, to practice our handicrafts and make plans as to how we can develop the cooperative and increase income.<\/p>\n<h4>What is our story?<\/h4>\n<p>The group used to work as individuals making simple handicrafts. After training in 2015 at Itambira Island Seeds of Hope (Christian community development project) we came together as a group \u2018Tubehamwre\u2019 to support each other, learn together, diversify range of handicrafts made, improve marketing and sales and thus increase income to support our families.<\/p>\n<h4>The group\u2019s Objectives<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To fight poverty among families in Katooma and nearby communities.<\/li>\n<li>To be exemplary in handicraft making around Lake Bunyonyi<\/li>\n<li>To improve skills and increase income generation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Personal stories:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kellen<\/strong> Is a pioneer group member. She has 4 children. She began handicraft making at the age of 8, learning from her mother. She started with simple baskets and mats but is now able to many types of handicrafts and has a market to sell these around the\u00a0Lake.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Codence<\/strong> has 2 children. She began by making simple handicrafts.
